Porsche 911 Group 4

"Resto-Mod" Porsches have obviously become all the rage in recent years.  Lead by high level builds from Singer, many people have been snapping up air cooled 911s and buying Backdate kits to execute their perfect 911 vision.

This has lead to an insane run up in used 911 values, in some cases over 700% in less than a decade.

However, for some of us who were born in the 1970s and had our opinions formed in the 1980s, the fed bumper cars are what 911s look like.

I strongly believe the next boom in the air cooled 911 aftermarket will be 934 and Group 4 replicas with the bolted fenders and ducktail.

They are much less expensive to build and look right to a new group of would-be vintage 911 fans.  The torsion bar cars offer a reliable vintage car driving experience and key upgrades are far less expensive than on the 964 or 993 including the suspension and Boxster/996 big brake upgrades.

The one at the top of this page (not my image, if it's yours let me know and I'll remove) is exceptional.  The ducktail, gaping 934 front spoiler, Cibie headlights, and especially the French made Gotti wheels all point to late 70s and early 80s Porsche motorsports.

You heard it here first.  Expect high quality 934 and Group 4 builds to be hitting the streets over the next few years.
